Education

Udaan


Udaan is a primary educational programme of DART, an NGO for education which is committed to providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children. DART, an NGO for poor child education believes that whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment or human rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education.

This project is supported by Local donors of Delhi, to provide education to non-school going children of 5-14 years of age from socio-economically deprived section of the society. The first Udaan new session started in July, 2016


DART's educational initiatives include Balwadi (Pre-school) [3-6 yrs], Learing to read (Non Formal Education) [6-14 yrs non-school going], Remedial Education [6-14 yrs school going] and Bridge Course [14-18 yrs drop-outs]. It is an education NGOM which works for education for underprivileged children who are under difficult circumstances, such as child labour, children of poorest of the parents, street and runaway children, children with rare disabilities, disaster struck children and slum children. Special emphasis is given on girl education and women education, so that they and their families get empowered. Following activities were conducted during the year:

Free educational materials (books, copies, pens, pencils, etc.), dress, lodging and health facilities were provided to the students.

Regular performance evaluation of the students was done through weekly and quarterly examinations of the students. The performance of the students was appreciated by the various stake holders.

Since its inception in 2016, more than 1500 underprivileged children have directly benefitted from the Udaan Education programme



DART’s Digital Literacy Program

DART’s livelihood development activities are focused on people belonging to marginalized communities, with the objective of providing them with knowledge, training, and access to technologies, services, and opportunities. DART currently runs two Livelihood centers in Delhi NCR and one in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh. DART offers Various IT courses to youth in their chosen areas from these centers and provides placement support post the training. So far more than 350 youth have benefitted from this programme.

IT training program for Women

DART has reached out to a 150 number of women for ‘Basic IT Programme’ in Delhi NCR. The target audience has been from underprivileged section. They are trained in computer skills. Along with this, DART has also reached out to people with Financial Literacy Programme .Seeing the modern workplace, it is of vital importance to have computer skills and knowledge in the area of financial literacy. The knowledge and information in these areas give people a stronger base when applying for any work. Around 200 females and youth have been trained in Digital and Financial Literacy Programme.
